Yesterday, ST published a NYT opinion piece from Joseph Stiglitz on what lessons the US can learn from Singapore. Kirsten Han then wrote up a rebuttal.
Honestly, I found the opinion rather misleading; the title ("Singapore's lessons for an unequal US") suggests that Singapore's model of governance holds "lessons" for the US.
Stiglitz clearly hasn't kept up with the discontent amongst Singaporeans, especially with the growing income disparity. For ST to give such wide latitude to a US-based writer (eminent though he may be) seems rather misplaced.
