Happy New Year!

Every year, around this time, I get twitchy. Another 6 months has gone by since I wrote anything. "Busy" is just an excuse. So here goes, and hopefully, my output will be a little more consistent.

Sports

Manchester United are top of the table by 7 points from City. Robin van Persie has proven the main man upfront for the team, scoring and creating freely. I still don't like how erratic the defence is, and the midfield could be a lot more assertive. But given City and Chelsea's strengths in depth, this is a very good place to start off the new year.

Lakers super team has floundered thus far. M Brown was sacked after a terrible 0-8 preseason, and 1-4 start to the season. Nash got injured after game 2, and M D'Antoni was hired after that. Lakers record after 33 games, 15-18. They will have to go 35-14 (or 6-7 wins out of ten) the rest of way to just qualify for the playoffs. This is worse than 03-04. Howard needs to shoulder most of the blame for this. His numbers are very good and when he's paying attention, he's tremendous (26 rebs against Denver, whilst playing with a torn shoulder muscle). But his lack to effort is either down to his recovery from his back injury, or pure laziness. I'd like to think it's his injuries, but he's shown enough power and strength in some games to say otherwsie. I hope his head turns around soon enough, else the Lakers are looking at the lottery.

Tech gadgets

iPhone 5, iPad 3, Samsung Galaxy S3, Nexus 7. That's all the devices I'm using right now. ;-)

Want: Nexus 4 running Android 4.2.1. Am really annoyed by how long it takes for other vendors to release new OS updates.
